VIDEO: Stroud women hit the streets as part of worldwide One Billion Rising campaign

A Stroud filmmaker has documented her town's part in a global campaign to end violence against women and girls.

On Valentine's Day, dozens of campaigners dressed in red and sparkling pink came together as a 'flash mob' outside the Sub Rooms in Stroud as part of the worldwide One Billion Rising movement.

The campaign derives its name from a statistic showing that one billion women and girls will be raped or beaten in their lifetime - that's one in three. Its aim is to raise awareness and reverse the tide of such violence.

The Stroud movement was captured by filmmaker Molly Olivia Broad and can be seen on Stroud Community TV.

"On February 14, billions of women and men united across the world to take a stand against rape culture," writes Molly.
